Northamptonshire's Local Offer, Information, Advice and Support Service (IASS) and Northamptonshire Parent Forum Group (NPFG) held an exciting summer fun day for families of children and young people (0 - 25 years) with Special Educational Needs and disabilities.

Well, didn't we have fun?

We had a fantastic day at SummerSENDsation earlier this month, the sun shined for us and we loved meeting so many families. We hope that the families that attended enjoyed getting involved and got lots of useful information on the day.

We would like to say a massive "thank you" to all of the service providers that attended and provided loads of fun activities - the day wouldn't have happened without you!

Scroll down to read some of the feedback we have received, watch a  film of the day by Halford Films and see some great pictures by Jacob Newton and Natalie Halford.

Below we have a snapshot of the feedback we have received for this event:

"We loved it - we would like another one next year. We're so unused to have everything under one roof. The Storm troopers were brill!" Parent/carer, feedback Post-its.

"A very well organised and well thought out event. Plenty to keep the children amused and lots of space. Lovely food and great information stalls. My children were able to independently move around which is something that doesn't usually EVER happen." Parent/carer, Facebook.

"A really lovely day. We enjoyed all the activities and finding out about support. Thank you." Parent/carer, feedback Post-its.

"It was amazingly helpful, but too spread out" Parent/ carer, feedback Post-its.

"Thank you for a great afternoon, it was so much fun for the kids and great information for parents/carers hope this will turn in to a yearly event" Parent/carer, Facebook.

"Great event. It was well organised and very informative. It was lovely to see so many families. I hope it's a yearly event." Parent/carer, Facebook.

"It was a brilliant event.  We got the opinion of 74 children on their last visit to either a doctor, dentist or hospital. We would definitely be interested in being involved again." Service provider.

"It was a very well structured day with lots for families to interact with. I liked that it was spread out instead of all being in one room which can sometimes be too intense for families. We spoke to lots of families and our jewellery and key ring making seemed to be a success!" Service provider

"We had a great day, we have had lots of interest about our service and we would love to come next year. The only thing that we found was that it was too spread out and lots of people seemed to miss things." Service provider.
