Overview

Our service provides physiotherapy advice and treatment to children from birth to age 19 years who are in local authority education. We offer a comprehensive package of therapy to include a full assessment of health needs, provide advice and education for self-management, treatment (individual and group) and monitoring, as well as support for babies and children with complex needs.

Who we are

We are a team of paediatric physiotherapists offering treatment packages according to individual needs. We have a varied skill mix of staff with a wide range of specialisms within the field of paediatric physiotherapy. We are based at the children’s treatment unit, however we are a community service and can carry out visits to homes, schools, nurseries and children’s centres.

What we do

Designed for children from birth to age 19, our service is focused on anticipating and responding to their needs.

We help children who require short-term inpatient and outpatient therapy (for example, fractures following an injury) and long-term neurological, neuromuscular, orthopaedic, developmental, rheumatoid and respiratory conditions.

We offer varied therapies, advice to parents and schools along with long-term management plans.

For help and advice from a children’s physiotherapist please visit your GP or talk with your child’s consultant or school special educational needs coordinator. We accept referrals from healthcare professionals and education staff.
