Type of service:
Mary Hare School for deaf children and young people offers a full GCSE and A level curriculum, as well as a range of vocational courses.
All teachers are both subject specialists and qualified Teachers of the Deaf and teach using an auditory/oral approach, without the use of sign language. We put great emphasis on the development of English using pupils' residual hearing through speaking and listening, lip-reading and writing. The school is equipped with the best technology to support students’ learning and the buildings are built to the best acoustic standards.
