Service description:
The Council for Disabled Children (CDC) is the umbrella body for the disabled children's sector in England, with links to other UK nations.

CDC aims to make a difference to the lives of disabled children and children with special educational needs. We do this by influencing Government policy, working with local agencies to translate policy into practice and producing guidance on issues affecting the lives of disabled children.

Our role focuses on three key elements:

1. Policy and practice advice to government on the SEN and disability reforms (as outlined in the Children and Families Bill).

2. Development of information highlighting key aspects of the reform process to help people engage as we lead up to implementation of the reforms (called our Countdown to Change programme)

3. Supporting the disabled children's sector to develop new and sustainable approaches to adapt to these changes

For all the latest news and announcements in the special educational needs sector, please check our regularly updated news page: http://bit.ly/1j5n6Dh
