Local Offer
Services for children and young people in Northamptonshire (aged 0-25) with special educational needs and disabilities.

The Grange Satellite

Type of service:
Schools And Education Providers
Staverton Road, The Grange School, Daventry, Northamptonshire, NN11 4HW
Telephone number:
01327 705785
Service description:
The provision is for children aged 4 – 11, all who have statements of special needs for Autism. The children live in the Daventry area, and for them, this will be the most local school. Staff at The Grange Satellite, are all members of Billing Brook School and the children follow the Billing Brook curriculum, but some are integrated into mainstream classes, with support.

The provision is small – up to 10 pupils and admission, is the same as the rest of our school, via the Local Authority.
Children need to be able to cope with a mainstream location – so for those who are working in the low P levels, a special school site still remains more appropriate. However, for those children who are working at the top end of the P levels and into national curriculum levels, the Grange Satellite is the best place for them.

Our speech and language therapist visits weekly, as does our Pupil and Parent Support manager. The pupils, for special events and occasions will visit the main site – but that is 27 miles away, so our intention is to develop a network of support and activities locally with other schools
