At Bardwell all pupils have identified special needs although, as in any school, some needs demand special
attention at particular times in the pupil's life or require
additional resources to ensure access to the curriculum
offered. The school has a responsibility to meet the special needs of every pupil by offering an informed,
full, relevant and balanced education.

The school plans all its work so as to ensure that all pupils have access to the physical environment, access
to the curriculum and access to information in appropriate formats.

We aim to teach all pupils to the best of their ability to:
- Develop as individuals and build relationships with others
- Communicate effectively
- Develop understanding, knowledge and skills, imagination and an appreciation of the world
- Choose, make decisions and solve problems
- Take responsibility and show initiative
- Express themselves creatively
- Develop their independence
- Enjoy learning
- Accept and manage change with confidence
