Service description:
Holly House School is a mixed special school for pupils with severe Emotional, Behavioural and Social Difficulties (EBSD) aged 7 – 14 years. The school offers up to 40 day and 20 residential placements.

What do we do?

The aim of Holly House School is to meet the special educational, emotional and behavioural needs of its pupils, return them to mainstream school if and when appropriate and prepare them for life beyond school.

We aim to:

•Provide the basic skills of literacy, numeracy and ICT
•Assess and meet each pupils’ special educational need
•Build self-esteem and self-confidence
•Provide stability, structure, nurture and care.
•Broaden horizons and create new opportunities.
•Listen to pupils.
•Teach moral values.
•Improve social skills.
•Develop relationship skills.

The staff of Holly House School is committed to giving the young people we work with the best possible education and prepare them for a fulfilling life beyond school. Some pupils are successful in returning to mainstream primary or secondary schools but many stay until they are fourteen years old and transfer to college-based provision for their last two years of schooling.
