Slated Row, Old Wolverton Road,
Slated Row Special School,
Slated Row is a Local Authority maintained special school, managing a delegated budget. We are one of six special schools which fall within the Milton Keynes unitary authority. Children come to the school from many parts of Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. Most come by minibus or taxi provided by the Local Authority, but older pupils if appropriate are encouraged to travel on public transport with the use of bus passes to aid their independence. The promotion of independence is a major priority throughout the school, with many opportunities provided for pupils to participate in community based projects and experiences.
The school enjoys the confidence and support of its parents and the wider community. We believe strongly that pupils make most progress when supported by a strong partnership between parents and the school and many opportunities to visit the school both formally and informally are offered. The school’s governing body is also extremely supportive, hardworking and able. Its structure and standing orders ensure that they maintain a detailed working knowledge of the school, placing them in an excellent position to steer its future development.
Slated Row School makes provision for pupils who have statements of educational needs/EHC plans for moderate learning difficulties with additional complex needs, which include severe learning difficulties; autistic spectrum disorders; behaviour, emotional and social difficulties; and speech, language and communication needs.
