Primary school admissions - key dates and deadlines

  • Read the information on this website carefully
  • Visit schools on open evenings and read school prospectuses
  • Attend the school admissions application events
  • Read schools' oversubscription admission criteria
​Deadline for applying15 January 2016 at 5pm - closing date for applications
  • Submit your preference form by the closing date
  • Send your additional letters and documents (if any) to the preferred school(s) in support of your application(s)
  • If we receive your application after 5pm on 15 January 2016 your application will be considered as a late application and will be processed in our additional rounds of allocation (see below)
Offers of school placeMonday 18 April 2016
  • Offer letters posted to all on-time applicants
  • View your offer online if you applied online
​Next steps18 April 2016 onwards
  • We will assume you have accepted the allocated place unless you let us know otherwise
  • Apply to join a waiting list by sending us an email or a letter
  • We will not withdraw a school place solely because you are dissatisfied and decline the offer. We must have notice that your child has a school place elsewhere. This is because we have a duty to ensure that all children are receiving their education entitlement.

11 May 2016 (process starts 18 May 2016 and takes 2-3 weeks)

13 June 2016 (process starts 20 June 2016 and takes 2-3 weeks)

27 June 2016 (process starts 4th July 2016 and takes 2-3 weeks)
The allocation process can take several weeks, depending on how many applications are received.

There is no need to contact us after completing the form - we will contact you once a decision has been made.
