Oversubscription criteria

Following the allocation of places to pupils who have a statement of special educational needs which names the school as appropriate provision, when there are more applications for places than there are places available, priority will be given in the following order:

  1. Children in public care (looked after children) or previously in public care
  2. 10% of places are allocated on the basis of aptitude in Information Technology established by tests taken at the school. Please contact the school for further details
  3. The presence of an elder brother or sister at Wrenn School at the time of the intended admission
  4.  Attendance at a primary school that has traditional and geographic links to Wrenn School. The purpose of this is to ensure existing friendship groups can join the school and enhance the smooth transition between phases. At present the linked schools are All Saints C of E Primary, Croyland Primary School, Freeman’s Endowed C of E Academy, Our Lady’s R C Junior School,Warwick Primary School, Wilby C of E Primary School, Park Junior School, Redwell Junior School, Earls Barton Junior School and Great Doddington Primary.
  5. Other pupils

Distance Tiebreaker

If the admission number is exceeded at criterion (5), priority will be given to those children who live closest to the school. Distances will be measured on a straight line basis from the address point of the child’s home to the address point of the school using Northamptonshire County Council’s geographical information system.
