The Duston School, Berrywood Road, Duston, Northampton NN5 6XA

Oversubscription criteria

Following the allocation of places to pupils who have a statement of special educational needs which names the school as appropriate provision, when there are more applications for places than there are places available, then the process of fair banding will apply:

  1. Children in public care (looked after children) or previously in public care
  2. Children of a member of staff (see definition on school website)
  3. Pupils who will have an older brother or sister continuing at The Duston School at the time of admission of the younger child (see sibling definition on page 100).
  4. Children who live in the area defined as NN5 4, NN5 5, NN5 6, NN5 7 and NN5 9.
  5. Other pupils.

Distance tiebreaker

If the admission number is exceeded within any criterion, priority will be given to those who live closest to the school with distances measured by NCC’s GIS.

If this school receives more applications than there are places available, the policy of fair banding is applied.
