Advice And Support
26 Rock Street,
The Service Six StreetWise project aims to engage with the county's most hard to reach, disaffected and vulnerable young people within their local area.
The StreetWise Team visit areas, which are often sighted for anti-social behaviour and/or high level of deprivation. Those areas are identified through our partner organisations, such as Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire County Council, Community Groups as well as Boroughs, District, Town and Parish Councils.
The Team will engage young people in meaningful and positive conversations in order to develop relationships that are built on mutual trust and respect between workers and young people. During the engagement with young people the team is able to provide support and informal social education around issues effecting young people's lives as well as gaining feedback from the young people regarding gaps in provision, such as positive activities.
Based on this feedback the team is able to develop positive activities to guide young people into more constructive and meaningful activities, which will meet young people's needs and interests.
The activities are provided through our Positive Activities Program in the form of short term taster projects.
Throughout their engagement with our StreetWise Team young people will be provided with other services, such as information, advice and support relating to apprenticeship schemes, work placements and employment as well as finding alternative recreational activities such as getting involved in local sport clubs, amongst many others.
