Service description:
In Northampton, Mind has a Mental Health Resource Centre and a Social Inclusion facility. Both locations offer services aimed to promote individual progression, development, and recovery through the provision of peer support, groups aimed to assist the development of self-management strategies for coping with mental ill health, social and recreational opportunities, education and learning groups, community-based activities and gender sensitive services. We offer individual support brokerage, support planning to aid individuals to achieve their hopes and aspirations, advocacy support at reviews, information and guidance, telephone support and 1-1 emotional support. There is assistance to access/direct opportunities to participate in supported volunteering/ work placement schemes, tailored 1-1 support and the provision of personal assistants as required. We also offer a range of services bespoke to each individual service user to help maintain, promote and improve emotional and physical wellbeing and wellness, independence, choice and control, and recovery. A prevention/early intervention service that aims to halt or slow down any deterioration and actively seeks to improve the situation is available for up to 12 weeks of access. We also provide a learning hub for student social workers.
