Service description:
All young people here have a sense of belonging in an active community. It is important that they share friendship and show respect for themselves both inside and outside DSLV. All students are expected to take responsibilities for their own actions and be part of an active learning environment. They learn how to become independent and show ambition for their own life and future.

DSLV is well equipped to meet the needs of all students regardless of their learning and/or physical difficulties. There are physiotherapy and hygiene rooms that are accessible to all students.

Transition plans are made for all students and for those who require additional support a programme appropriate to their needs is implemented. The transition from primary to secondary takes place during June and July with extra visits for those students who require them.
All students are assessed on entry which aims to identify and additional needs resulting in appropriate teaching groups and support being available.

The Inclusion team work closely with all professionals as well as parents to ensure that students facing any difficulties are able to learn alongside their peers. Students who have English as a second language are given additional support to allow them to progress with learning as quickly as possible.

We have a robust safeguarding system and work quickly to address any concerns, liaising regularly with parents, carers and social services if required.
All students are valued and supported throughout their time at DSLV.

This Maintained Nursery School has confirmed how they support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The statement is available on the school's website or you can contact the provider or the Local Offer Team for more information.
