    If you are an experienced social worker or practice manager who is dedicated to improving the lives of children then we want to hear from you.

    Whether you are just stepping up to the practice manager level or have previous experience at providing casework supervision and mentoring to less experienced social workers and support staff, we have an opportunity right for you.

    For an entrant level practice manager you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in mentoring others and providing case work supervision. For more experienced practice managers you will deputise for the team manager and provide leadership and professional supervision in highly complex situations.

    If you are an experienced, self-motivated, creative Team Manager who can lead teams and manage change whilst maintaining high service standards and quality we want to hear from you.

    As a Team Manager for Northamptonshire County Council you will lead, manage and direct day-to-day operation of children’s social care teams, allocating work, prioritising workload across the teams, and taking case related decisions.

What is the Northamptonshire Social Work Academy? We have revolutionised the way we work within our Children’s Services and launched the academy to guide and steer newly qualified social workers through that crucial first year of practice. Only the most promising and passionate advocates of children and young people will be selected to take part in this year long intensive support and mentoring programme. The academy programme will be refreshed for the 2018 intake with a renewed focus on best practice. Our aim is for you to feel both valued and supported in an environment that places a real emphasis on developing quality in social work practice. What to expect from the Northamptonshire Social Work Academy Let’s face it, being a social worker is not an easy job. The academy will provide guidance and support as you embark on a challenging and hugely rewarding career helping to support children and families. You will be equipped and highly trained to become the best possible social worker with a phased approach to the volume and complexity of your workload. You’ll have the support of a strong leadership and management team who will work with you to identify training and development opportunities.
