How to use the free music downloads service

Follow the four steps below to use our free music download service provided by Freegal:

  • Download up to three songs per week.
  • Content based on agreements with over 10,000 music labels, including the labels of Sony Music Entertainment.
  • Hundreds of different genres of music.
  • The Freegal Music website is designed to be used on the web. Freegal uses the browser to download music so there is no software to download.
  • For mobile devices there is a mobile app that is compatible with iOS and Android devices.

Go to the log in page and enter your library card number (including the D preceding the number) and also your 4 digit PIN number. If you do not know or have forgotten your PIN please contact your nearest library.

For further general information on how to use the music download service please refer to the frequently asked questions document.

For information on how to install and use the mobile app please refer to the Freegal app document.

For help with technical matters please email answersplus@northamptonshire.gov.uk.
