First for Wellbeing is establishing itself as the 'go-to' service for lifestyle advice

The First for Wellbeing service is fast becoming the new one-stop-shop for lifestyle advice, wellbeing services and General Practioner (GP) social prescribing in Northamptonshire.

Launched in April 2016, the new countywide service is supporting local people through its bespoke one-on-one wellbeing advisory service. Dedicated wellbeing advisors work with people at a range of locations on an individual level to help identify key areas of their wellbeing that they want – or need – to improve on. Services range from weight management, stop smoking and alcohol awareness to emotional wellbeing, financial and housing support.

"Our wellbeing advisors are passionate about what they do and are dedicated to making sure each and every person that comes through our service leaves with a clear picture as to what steps they need to take to go about living a healthier, happier life. We are starting to make significant progress by partnering up with local GP surgeries, where dedicated wellbeing advisers run wellbeing clinics at least once a week. In all, we are working towards becoming the new ‘go-to’ for lifestyle advice and wellbeing services across the county, and to be as accessible as possible for people to take that first step to change.”

Esther Bushell,
First for Wellbeing Service Delivery Manager.

First for Wellbeing recognises that volunteering contributes greatly to improving peoples health and lifestyles and can be hugely beneficial in helping to combat loneliness and social isolation.
