London Road closure as disused railway tracks removed

11 August 2015

Disused railway tracks are to be removed in London Road, Northampton, with additional resurfacing taking place at the same time.

Works will commence on Wednesday (12th August) with footway closure only until Friday (14th August). The road will then be closed in its entirety over the weekend of Saturday 15th August and Sunday 16th with access maintained for local residents/businesses.

From Monday 17th August to Friday 4th September (weekdays only) the road will be reopened with temporary signals in place. On Sunday 23rd and 30th August, an inbound road closure only will be put in place while the Northamptonshire County Council works are underway.

Electronic signs

The electronic signs in the town will show messages advising of the closure and there will be signs being put up on site next week with communications sent out to local residents.

The works are being carried out during the school summer holidays while the roads are relatively quiet.
