About us

The Get Involved Northamptonshire Campaign commenced in 2014 and is aimed at encouraging the people of Northamptonshire to become more actively engaged with their local communities through volunteering.

The first phase of the Get Involved Hub was launched in February 2015 as a unique resource which focused entirely on volunteering opportunities within Northamptonshire, with a wide variety of Northamptonshire County Council volunteering opportunities being made accessible online. These included roles within Libraries, Schools, Country Parks, Northamptonshire Sports, Archives and Heritage and Emergency Planning Services.

It was a very positive experience, and I would do it again. It was a perfect introduction to volunteering. The staff were very friendly and appreciated what I did  - and we celebrated our work with tea and cake!”

Since then, many other service organisations and charities have used the hub as a vehicle through which their own volunteer opportunities can be made accessible to a wider audience. We currently have more than 80 organisations using the hub and hundreds of roles for you to choose from.

The latest phase of the development of the hub was completed in January 2017 and the site now offers a dynamic and user-friendly resource for both volunteer-based organisations and those people looking for new volunteering opportunities.
