  • Reading Helper - Beanstalk Charity Reading Helper - Beanstalk Charity

    ​Are you looking for a really rewarding volunteering opportunity? Do you want to give something back to your local community? Would you like to make a difference to a child's reading ability and their overall attainment in school? By becoming a volunteer reading helper you can make an outstanding contribution to a child's reading ability, self-confidence, love of reading and overall school work. Beanstalk mentors help three children each for three terms by providing sustained one-to-one literacy support to children who are falling behind the expected reading level for their age.

  • Customer Support Volunteer - Corby Library Customer Support Volunteer - Corby Library
    Excellent customer service is vitally important at LibraryPlus and our volunteers can make a real difference to our customer’s experience – making them feel welcome in the library, signposting them to information and services, helping them to use library equipment and resources, or simply helping with refreshments at regular coffee mornings. Corby Library is currently seeking a volunteer to support our Home Library Service, which delivers books to those unable to visit the library, providing a crucial lifeline to vulnerable members of our community.
  • Children and Families (under 5's) Volunteer - Rushden Library Children and Families (under 5's) Volunteer - Rushden Library
    ​Libraries deliver a range of early years services and volunteers can support these in a variety of ways – leading song and rhyme sessions for families with children under 5, leading or assisting with creative and engaging activities that can continue at home, or by helping parents and carers through the provision of advice, information and supporting and encouraging involvement at Children’s Centre Parent Forums. Rushden Library is specifically looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to lead a regular Bounce and Rhyme session for non-walkers or a Rhymetime session for active children.
  • Country Park Voluntary Placement - Various locations Country Park Voluntary Placement - Various locations

    ​NCC Countryside Services are looking for volunteers to assist Rangers with the day to day maintenance of some of the county’s wonderful country parks. Opportunities are currently available at Barnwell, Brampton Valley, Brixworth, and Irchester and key duties include practical and heritage conservation and development tasks, general tidying, inspection patrols, grounds and maintenance tasks and helping with park events, all under the supervision of a Park Ranger. This role would be ideal for individuals looking to gain work experience and a reference for a career in parks and countryside related work.
