Search for a volunteering opportunity
There are many volunteering opportunities on offer across the county to suit all ages and abilities, some of which require a regular commitment, whilst others support one-off projects or events for a fixed time period.
Follow our simple step by step guide and once you are registered with Get Involved Northamptonshire, you can start posting and managing your volunteering opportunities straight away.
Are you looking for a really rewarding volunteering opportunity? Do you want to give something back to your local community? Would you like to make a difference to a child's reading ability and their overall attainment in school? By becoming a volunteer reading helper you can make an outstanding contribution to a child's reading ability, self-confidence, love of reading and overall school work. Beanstalk mentors help three children each for three terms by providing sustained one-to-one literacy support to children who are falling behind the expected reading level for their age.
NCC Countryside Services are looking for volunteers to assist Rangers with the day to day maintenance of some of the county’s wonderful country parks. Opportunities are currently available at Barnwell, Brampton Valley, Brixworth, and Irchester and key duties include practical and heritage conservation and development tasks, general tidying, inspection patrols, grounds and maintenance tasks and helping with park events, all under the supervision of a Park Ranger. This role would be ideal for individuals looking to gain work experience and a reference for a career in parks and countryside related work.
